One of the most difficult things about staying healthy this time of year is all of the amazing, sugar-filled treats that come along with it! That is why I absolutely love this grain free (paleo friendly!!), chocolate and cherry scone recipe. It truly satisfies your sweet tooth without leaving you full of guilt. Let’s get right into it.

Serves: 6 

Grain-free sconesINGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 3 tablespoons coconut flour
  • 1/8 cup honey
  • 2 packets Stevia or Truvia
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup almond milk – or substitute another milk
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil or butter
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup frozen dark cherries
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Mix almond and coconut flours in a bowl. Add honey, stevia or truvia, egg, almond milk, butter or coconut oil, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold in chocolate chips and cherries.
  3. The dough is fragile. Shape into triangular or circle shapes about 1-2” thick and place on parchment lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-18 minutes until nicely browned on the top. Allow them to cool down slightly prior to eating. Enjoy this Yoga with Adriene session while you wait for the scones to cook!
  5. Top with butter, jam or enjoy as is! (Also a great treat to enjoy with a nice Dandy Blend beverage) 🙂
