I have a personal policy.

When I travel to Mexico, I have nachos every day.

This may surprise you, because as a wellness coach I would shun nachos in the name of health, right?

Well, here’s the deal.

I LOVE nachos.

They make me happy. And when I find myself in a place where the hand-cut tortillas are fresh and STILL WARM from the fryer, and the toppings are abundant, I’m going to go for it.

At least once a day… on a good day, maybe twice.

I hope you can feel my joy leap through the inter-webs right into your room. They (nachos) make my heart happy.

Keep in mind, I’m lucky if I get to Mexico once every 5 years, and if this were a monthly thing, I would need to reassess my “personal policy” on nachos.

It also helps me to say no to random nacho consumption here and there. If I’m going to have them, they need to be good.

Here in Charlottesville, there’s one place I like to go, one friend I go there with, once or twice a year, and we share a plate. This gal pal of mine also makes my heart happy, and sharing nachos with her in particular makes it even more special. Day in and day out, though, I give them a pass.

If you have something you love- find a way to have it.

And when you have it, let it be good, and make sure you enjoy every bite.

I shudder to think that I would pass up something so wonderful when I enjoy it so much because it doesn’t fit into my “plan.” Nachos on a daily basis do not… I’d be miserable to be around. I’d feel terrible, and that’s not the way I want to live. Nachos (good ones) on occasion, are another story.

What do you love? I’d love to know.
